Family Care for Elderly Community

Investigation of Burden Status and Influencing Factors（节选）

Abstract : To understand the current situation of family care burden of elderly people in the community and analyze its influencing factors. A convenient sampling method was used to select 210 elderly people and their family caregivers in a community in Fuzhou, and the Barthel index scale and the care burden scale were used to investigate. The total score of the family care burden of the elderly in the community was (30.2plusmn;12.5), which was at the moderate burden level.High community the family care burden of the elderly is heavy, which is influenced by the family and the elderly.

Introduction

The number of people aged 60 and over in our country has reached 222 million in 2015, Projected to 2050, Chinas elderly population will rise to 440 million, More than 100 million of them will be older than 80. As we get older, Most of the elderly live with disease, It is reported that 51.2% of the elderly have at least one chronic disease before dying. Disease affects the ability of the elderly to take care of themselves, Increase the care burden and intensity of family members. Studies have shown that, care-giving burden is a key factor affecting the physical and mental health of caregivers, The heavier the burden of care, The worse the health of the caregiver. Only to understand the current situation of the care burden of the elderly family and its influencing factors, To take effective interventions, Help families reduce the burden of care. The current study on the burden of family care focuses more on the families of inpatients or chronic patients, There are few reports on the care burden of the elderly family in the community. The purpose of this study was to investigate the care burden of elderly family members in the community, Analysis of the status of care burden and related factors, It provides scientific basis for reducing the care burden of the elderly family members in the community.

1 .Object and Methods

1.1 Survey subjects adopt a convenient sampling method from November to December 2016, The elderly and their family caregivers in a community in Fuzhou were selected as the survey objects. Elderly inclusion criteria :1 age ge;80 years; 2 Agree to participate in this study. Inclusion criteria for family caregivers :1. Principal caregivers for older persons; 2 Age ge;18; 3 Language communication accessible, Can understand the content of the questionnaire; At the same time with the elderly care agreed to participate in this study.

1.2 Investigation tools

①Barthel Index Rating Scale BarthelIn-dex, BI: At present, the scale measures the activity ability of daily life ADL commonly used scales, It is used to evaluate the ability of daily life activities of the elderly. According to the BI score, it can be divided into four grades: complete dependence, 20 minutes or less, Complete disability; Severe dysfunction, 21~40, (b) The apparent dependence on life; Moderate dysfunction, 41~60, Life needs help; Basic self-care, 61 points ~100 points, Life is basically self-care. 2 Chinese version of Care-giving Burden Scale ZaritBurden Interview, ZBI): This scale was designed by Zairt, Domestic scholar Wang Li and other [10] translated the scale in 2006, Cronbachs coefficient is 0.87, Internal consistency reliability is good. The scale includes two dimensions: personal burden and responsibility burden, A total of 22 entries, Each entry is graded at five levels, One point for occasionally, Sometimes ,two points, Three points for regular, The always score is four. The total score of the scale was less than 21, 21~39 moderate burden, 40 or more is a heavy burden.

3 Survey methodology

By the unified training of the elderly nursing direction of graduate students into the household survey, first to the elderly and their main family caregivers to introduce the purpose of the survey, with their consent to issue a questionnaire, by the survey object to fill in, on the spot, and check the missing questions in the questionnaire, please investigate the object to supplement, improve. Those who have difficulty in filling out the questionnaire are assisted by the investigator. The elderly and their family caregivers each distributed 210 questionnaires, and recovered 206 valid questionnaires completed simultaneously by the elderly and their families, with an effective rate of 98.1.

4 Statistical Methods

SPSS20.0 statistical software is used for data analysis. The measurement data are expressed as mean plusmn; standard deviation (xplusmn;s), the comparison between the two groups adopts t test, the comparison between the two groups adopts ANOVA, and the counting capitalchi;2 test was used for materials and single factor was used for analysis of influencing factors of caring burden Analysis and multivariate linear regression analysis, P lt;0.05 as the difference is statistically significant.
